Earn One CBIS CEU at Rainbow's Community Education Learn Over Lunch
William Beaumont - Royal Oak and Detroit Receiving Hospitals are participating in ProTECT III, a study that aims to determine if progesterone (a hormone found naturally in our bodies) can decrease disability and death associated with TBI. Animal studies have demonstrated that progesterone may decrease the amount of brain damage that occurs after traumatic brain injury (TBI).
The double-blind study will evaluate patients who suffer from moderate to severe traumatic brain injuries, for consideration in the study. Enrolled patients will be randomly given either progesterone intravenously or a placebo, within four hours of the injury, and their outcomes post-injury will be assessed.
To learn more about ProTECT III, a traumatic brain injury study that may affect you or someone you know, attend Rainbow's Community Education session in March.
